Faculty and staff advisers are available within each college and department to provide students with accurate information on academic programs, policies, procedures and deadlines. Advisers help students select a major, design a program of study, map out a schedule, monitor academic progress and clarify career goals.
The Academic Advising Center advises students as they develop meaningful academic plans compatible with their educational and life goals. The center's academic advising focus is on undecided students, students seeking alternative majors, and students reassessing their current academic situation.
ACCESS provides campus-wide academic support and tutoring to undergraduate students. Services include free, individualized appointment-based tutoring in most 100- and 200-level general education courses and walk-in tutoring centers in Douglas, Lincoln, and Grant residence halls.
Coaching for Academic Success provides assistance with the general study skills students need in a variety of subject areas in order to be academically successful. Students can request a free individual study skills consultation and will receive help with textbook reading, time management, test preparation and note-taking.
The University Writing Center in Stevenson Towers South offers free, individual consultations with trained staff for all types of writing tasks and assignments.
