How to Apply

Here’s how it works:

  1. Apply to NIU for admission as a full-time freshman in Fall of 2010
  2. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by May 1
  3. Receive your financial aid award letter from NIU
  4. Look for verification of eligibility for state and federal financial aid (MAP and Pell grants)
  5. Look for tuition charges that exceed those grant amounts
  6. See those charges marked “PAID – Huskie Advantage Program”
  7. Pack your bags, put on your favorite Huskie T-shirt and head to NIU!
